In 1985 we attended the National Apple Harvest Festival located in Biglerville, Adams County (Apple Country) the first two weekends in October where we sold Apple Sausage Pattie Sandwiches for M.S. (link-www.appleharvest.com)

Since the concept of Apples in Sausage was new we sold about twenty five sandwiches over the two weekends. We gave away more samples than we sold. Very depressing weekends.

Don was determined to come up with a good sandwich so he decided on a Sausage Link instead of a Pattie. He kept "tweeking" the recipe until he got the flavor that now is the Famous Apple Sausage Sandwich that you get today.

Now, twenty five years later Don Hershey's Famous Apple Sausage Sandwich for M.S. sold more than 3,000 Sandwiches over the two weekends. Quite a difference from 1985.

Don takes the proceeds from the Festival and supports a Holiday Dinner with Entertainment for all persons in the Central PA Area that have Multiple Sclerosis and their families.
